The Power of Submission

Submission is a hard topic for men. Often I think men believe this means a sign of weakness. Well it is, temporarily. However it is needed in order for us to give up our power and receive Gods power. In other words we have to become weak to become strong. It is what our Savior King chose to do. He chose this not only to fulfill prophecy, but to submit to the will of the father in order to access his power. Jesus had multiple times where he chose to submit. He submitted when he became a human baby. He submitted to being baptized. He also made the ultimate submission when he declared in the garden “not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42 NIV)

Submission is not about weakness, but about strength. When we as men choose to take that first step and submit to the King of Kings, we are trading our power for God’s power. With this power Jesus tells us that if we submit and follow him we will do greater things than he did. (John 14:2 NIV)

So men I challenge you to take that step and learn how to walk in God’s power. So that not you will, but his will would be done in your life, your families, and in your community.

Go in God’s strength
