The Power of Purpose

Have you ever thought about living life on purpose? This thought came to me the other day as i was strolling along the beach on a beautiful sunny morning. How can I be more intentional about my life.

If you think about it, Jesus lived out his whole life on purpose. Even when he was twelve he was living life on purpose. He said, “Why were you searching for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my father’s house?” (Luke 2:49)

He even worked on Sunday. In John 5 we see him healing the man on the Sabbath. When the Pharisees tried to tell him off he simply said, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” (John 5:17 NIV)

He didn’t seem to waste any time, but instead spent his time living his life being about his fathers business. If this is what our Savior-Warrior-King practiced shouldn’t we practice this as well.

I think the phrase living in the spiritĀ means just that. That everyday we as Men of the King should be living our lives on purpose. Our marriages, our relationships, our jobs all should be done with the motive of serving the King of Kings.

I think as we live life on purpose, God will be able to do amazing things in our families, our churches and our community.
